Jean Philippe Cuvée Blanquette de Limoux 2007

“Money can’t buy you happiness, but it does bring you a more pleasant form of misery.” — Spike Milligan

Wine Harlots like bubbles…and bargains. You get both with this French sparkler.  Pale gold, with a multitude of pin-point bubbles.  It took several hours to finish the bottle, and the last glass had as many bubbles as the first.  The nose had a delightful yeasty toasty sensation.  The mid-palate was green apple and citrus.  There was a slight bit of a metallic taste on the finish.

I went basic with the food pairing.  Fresh local strawberries, brie and a baguette.  So simple, so delightful.

The alcohol content is 11.5%. I purchased this from Cardiff Seaside Market for $10.  It’s a great value for the price.  Domaine Rosier is a family-owned winery. The Blanquette de Limoux is made from the local white grape Mauzac blended with Chardonnay.  Imported by the Wine Warehouse Los Angeles.

The music pairing is “L’Accord Parfait” by Autour de Lucie from their eponymous album.
