Kim Crawford New Zealand Unoaked Chardonnay 2007

by Nannette Eaton on May 23, 2009

“Others have seen what is and asked why. I have seen what could be and asked why not. ”  —  Pablo Picasso

The wine is an appealing straw color, with an alluring nose of sweet white peaches.  The palate was a delicious melody of fresh, bright crisp fruit.  This is a great stand-alone wine, which is how Wine Harlots drank it after a stress-filled day; but this would be a terrific wine to pair with Pacific Rim fusion cuisine.

The alcohol content is 13%.  Screw-cap closure.  The chardonnay grapes were sourced from Gisborne and Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.  This was a gift from a friend, but can be purchased for about $14-19 USD.  Imported by Icon Estates.

Have you checked out the Kim Crawford website, they offer free music downloads from emerging talents.  If you haven’t scored the seasonal picks, hurry!  A new line-up will be offered on June 1.  We don’t want you to miss out on some great tunes.

The musical pairing is “Don’t Believe In Love” by Dido from the album Safe Trip Home.  This album has been unfairly overlooked in the marketplace.  Granted, it’s not quite as approachable as the first two albums, but it has great depth and beauty.  I urge you to give a listen, you’ll not be disappointed.
