Mantra Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma County 2006

by Nannette Eaton on May 18, 2009

“The mantra becomes one’s staff of life and carries one through every ordeal.  Each repetition has a new meaning, carrying you nearer and nearer to God.”  —  Mahatma Gandhi

Wine Harlots new mantra is: “drink more Mantra.”  This is a delicious quaff from a family-owned boutique winery in Sonoma.  The color of the wine is a deep burgundy hue, with a rich body and a sour cherry nose, the palate continues with dark cherries, luscious blackberries and caramel overtones.  This was a delicious bottle of wine and we can’t wait to drink more.

The alcohol content is 14.5%.  Cork closure.  Cabernet sauvignon sourced from grapes from the Alexander and Dry Creek Valleys of Sonoma, California.  Produced and bottled by Mantra Wines in Healdsburg.  This was purchased from the Wine Loft in Carlsbad for $20 USD.  This wine is the Wine Loft’s biggest customer repeat purchase, which really says it all.

The music match is “Someone Else” by Chris Blake from his album Wave.  You can download this album from iTunes, Amazon or purchase from the best little music store on the internet CD Baby.  Full disclosure, Wine Harlots have a wee bit of a crush on Chris.  It all began when we began following his missives on Twitter.  His response?  “Oh cool. I’m being followed by @wineharlots. My two favorite things.”  Really, what’s not to love?  We suggest you follow Chris too, he’s @chrisblake.  As an added bonus, you can also get a free download of his new song, Happiness.  What’s your mantra?
