Trader Joe’s Coastal Zinfandel 2007

“Nothing makes one so vain as being told one is a sinner.  Conscience makes egotists of us all.”  — Oscar Wilde

Trader Joe's Coastal Zin

This is another bargain buy from the Trader Joe’s Coastal line.  It’s a gorgeous ruby red, with jammy fruit and peppery spices.  This a lighter wine than the big screaming monster zins you might be used to.  But for the price point, this one should be picked up by the case-load.  Wine Harlots purchased this from our local Encinitas Trader Joe’s for $4 USD.  Other regions have it offered for $5.  The alcohol is 13.9%.  Cork closure.  Produced for Trader Joe’s by Castoro Cellars, from grapes sourced the California Central Coast.

The musical pick is “I am Nothing” from the fantastic Nellie McKay from the album Pretty Little Head.  Nellie is a Wine Harlot favorite; we think she might be a Wine Harlot too!
