2008 White X

“I am here to seduce you into a love of life; to help you to become a little more poetic; to help you die to the mundane and the common so that the extraordinary explodes in your life.”  —  Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh

2008 White X

Love it!  X marks the spot on this offering.  This was an extrasensory experience to drink.  There were flavors of apricot and citrus.  It was crisp, bright and refreshing.  Perfect for sultry summer days and nights.  This is a great example of exceptional winemaking at an excellent price-point.

Since one of the tasting notes was, “this is a picnic in a glass,” Wine Harlots suggest taking the wine on a picnic.  The Stelvin screw-top closure makes it super-easy to use al fresco.  We enjoyed the wine with a delicious Chicken Pesto Sandwich on a crispy baguette with fresh buffalo mozzarella and arugula as we watched the sunset over the Pacific.  Extraordinary.

The alcohol is 13.9%.  Screw-top.  The blend is 57% sauvignon blanc, 20% muscat blanc, 19% chardonnay, 4% roussanne sourced from all over Northern California — Lake County, Mendocino County, Napa County, Suisun Valley, and Sonoma County.  Suggested retail price $15 USD.  Wine can be purchased directly through the X Winery website or check here for a list of national distributors.  Sample kindly provided by X Winery.

The music match is “The Golden State” from John Doe from his album A Year in the Wilderness.  Even if you’re not spending a year in the wilderness in the golden state, we suggest grabbing a couple of bottles of White X to experience wherever your journeys take you.
