Mumm Napa Brut Prestige

Mumm Napa Brut Prestige

“Champagne yes, philosophy no.”  —  Kit Moresby in Paul Bowles’  The Sheltering Sky

This is a great domestic sparkler.  The color is a golden straw, with the requisite small bubbles.  The flavors are a crisp, but creamy, yeasty vanilla citrus blend.  Wine Harlots can’t get enough of this one, it’s especially good on a sultry summer evening.  So that we aren’t all just prisoners here, of our own device, we suggest pairing this with an antipasto platter, and you’re set for a relaxing (no cooking) evening.

Alcohol content 12.5%.  The Mumm Napa Brut Prestige cuvée is a blend of 51% pinot noir, 46% chardonnay, 2% pinot meunier, 1% pinot gris from grapes grown in the Napa Valley.  The suggested retail is $20 USD, club price $16, wide distribution.  This was a sample from the winery, facilitated by Folsom & Associates.

The musical selection is “Hotel California” by the Eagles.  Plenty of room at the Hotel California.  You can check-out any time you like, but you can never leave.  Wine Harlots say bring your alibis and stay Mumm.
