Tamaya Winemakers Selection Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2007

by Nannette Eaton on August 18, 2009

“Summer afternoon – Summer afternoon…  The two most beautiful words in the English language.”  —  Henry James

Tamaya

Tired of the summer heat?  Try this wine.  The wicked-hot weather will still beat-down, but you won’t care so much, guaranteed.  It has a lovely golden color, with flavors of mango, pineapple and p

assion fruit.  A lovely acid balance, with a short finish and a slight metallic aftertaste.  Pair this with Paul Liebrandt’s (of Corton in New York City) Beet–and–Red Sorrel Salad with Pistachio.

The Tamaya Winemakers Selection Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc 2007 alcohol level is 13%.  Cork closure.  100% sauvignon blanc grapes from the Limari Valley in Chile.   This was a wine sample kindly provided by the Wines of Chile.  The suggested retail price is $19 USD.  The US importer is National Refrescos Import Company.

The music pairing is “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley from the album Building the Perfect Beast.
