Temecula Hills Tempranillo 2006

by Nannette Eaton on August 19, 2009

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”  — Ralph Waldo Emerson

This is a clear ruby wine with a fabulous aroma of raspberries, blackberries and stone fruit.  There are nice drying tannins on the finish.  You could spend hours just smelling this wine.  But if your in the mood for food, this yummy wine would be terrific paired with Charles Perry for Saveur’s Onion & Saffron Roasted Lamb.

The details:  14.3% alcohol.  Cork closure.  The tempranillo grapes were sourced for the Morera Vineyard in the South Coast appellation in Temecula Valley.  You can obtain the wines directly from the Temecula Hills Winery for $32.00 USD; if you are a member of the Wine Club the price is $25.60; Gold Club members pay $24.00.

The music match is “Tell Me What We’re Goin’ to Do Now” by Joss Stone from Introducing… After the sustenance of a delicious meal, a bottle of Temecula Hills, and a little Miss Stone, you’ll be all energised for what you’re going to do next.  Wine Harlots (and Emerson) suggest being trail breakers.  Here’s to our next adventure!  Cheers!
