Viñas Chilenas Reserva Sauvignon Blanc 2008

This is the delicious bargain of the summer.  Its three dollars, just like the price of a gallon of gas.  (Ok, I’m in San Diego.  The wine is cheaper, the petrol a lot more expensive.  Life’s a trade-off, and this is mine.  Good thing I’m a wine harlot, not Danica Patrick!)  This is a perfect wine for a stinking-hot summer day.  Peaches, apples with a lemony acidity.  Great to pair with a Caprese Salad.

The details: 13% alcohol.  Pressed cork closure.  Pure sauvignon blanc from Central Valley in Chile produced by Videma S.A. exclusively for Trader Joe’s.  Purchased at my local SoCal Trader Joe’s for $3.  It retails nationally at the $4-5 range.  Stock up on this one, we are!

The music match is “Slave to Love” by Bryan Ferry from the classic album Boys and Girls.
