“I had nothing to escape from but privilege, but I claimed asylum anyway.” – Diablo Cody
These wines are so much fun, it’s almost criminal. The Big House Pink is my favorite of the trio. It’s a gorgeous raspberry juice color with subtle strawberry flavors. I’m enchanted with rosé, and this is a good example, it’s an uncomplicated, delicious quaff.
The Big House White has a fantastic nose due to the viognier, it’s a light and bright wine. The Big House Red is a simple red table wine. Andrea said, “It’s smells kinda bad, but it tastes delicious.” Ginny liked the aroma, and the boys simply asked for refills.
The alcohol ranges from 13-13.5%. The closure is Stelvin screw-cap. The grapes are sourced all over California, with the white a blend of six varietals, the rosé contains eleven, and the red a veritable multiple personality with thirteen different grapes. The suggested retail price on these is $10 USD. The wine is produced by Underdog Wine Merchants. This was a sample kindly provided by Folsom & Associates (no connection to the correctional facility!)
The music match is “A Prisoner of the Past” by Prefab Sprout from the album Andromeda Heights. If you’re having a Hard Labor Day, don’t scale the walls, just break-out one of these wines and pray for clemency.
