Ludovicus 2007

by Nannette Eaton on November 15, 2009

Ludovicus“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”  —  Oscar Wilde

The color is a deep plum with full blackberry flavor and vanilla with a hint of savory pepper.  This is a good everyday wine.  It has character, but it won’t over-power your meal.  Craig Drollett, of Bin Ends suggests pairing this wine with Thanksgiving dinner.  We concur.

The specifics:  Alcohol 13.5%.  Cork closure.  This is from the producer Celler Piñol.  The grapes are from Terra Alta in Spain with the following varietals: 35% garnacha, 30% tempranillo, 25% syrah, 10% cabernet sauvignon.  This was purchased for $8 USD at Wegman’s in Virginia.  It is imported by Ole Imports.

The music match is Nick Lowe’s “Cruel to be Kind” from his Jesus of Cool album.
