Waterstone Rosé 2008

by Nannette Eaton on November 21, 2009

“I once had a rose named after me and I was very flattered. But I was not pleased to read the description in the catalogue: no good in a bed, but fine up against a wall.”  —  Eleanor Roosevelt

Stumped about what wine to serve on Thanksgiving?  You can always go with the classic Beaujolais or pinot noir or the upstart zinfandel, but this is an elegant choice that will marry perfectly with turkey, cranberry sauce and scalloped potatoes.  The Waterstone Rosé 2008 is a dry rosé of cabernet sauvignon and has lovely strawberry and hibiscus notes that will complement your meal, not compete for attention.  (God knows there’s enough family members doing that!)

The details:  13.8% alcohol.  Cork closure.  Napa Valley appellation.  The wine retails for $12 USD and  is available from the Waterstone website store.  This was a trade sample kindly provided by Folsom & Associates.

The music match is “Here with Me” by Dido from the album No Angel.  Whether you’re  no  angel or have the good fortune to have a rose named after you, enjoy the holidays.
