Home Grown Family Harvest Red 2007

by Nannette Eaton on December 3, 2009

“The leaves fall, the wind blows, and the farm country slowly changes from the summer cottons into its winter wools.”  —  Henry Beston

This is a great little wine.  No big deal, just a quaff of rustic deliciousness.  Blueberries and a subtle earthiness.  Perfect for the days when you just want to drink some wine, not over-analyze it.

The details:  13.2% alcohol.  Cork closure.  This is a California red table wine with roughly a third each of syrah, barbera and petite sirah.  The price is $10 USD, direct from Home Grown.  If you buy a case, they’ll include shipping gratis.  This was a media sample kindly provided by the Regency Wine Group.

The perfect pairing for this is a burger.  We had a Five Guys bacon cheeseburger and a side of fries and it rocked.  The music match is “Sunny Came Home” from Shawn Colvin from the album A Few Small Repairs.
