Cono Sur Pinot Noir 2008

“Happiness is nothing more than good health and a bad memory.”  — Albert Schweitzer

Cono Sur Pinot Noir 2008 doesn’t taste like a classic pinot (either old world or new world).  On first pass, I didn’t particularly enjoy it.  It had cherry and cedar notes, and it seemed thin.  On the second day, it was nice.  Give it some air the first day, and you’ve got a two-day wine.  It’s a great little table wine to pair with pizza.

The details:  13.4% alcohol.  Screw-top closure.  Pure pinot noir from the Central Valley in Chile.  This is available nationally for under $10 USD.  This was a media sample generously provided by The Wines of Chile.

The music match is “Have You Once Recalled the Days?” by Warren Zanes from one of the Wine Harlots favorite albums Memory Girls. Here’s to good health and hazy memories.
