Fortant de France Malbec 2008

by Nannette Eaton on January 15, 2010

To sell something, tell a woman it’s a bargain; tell a man it’s deductible.  — Earl Wilson

And what a delicious bargain this is! The Fortant de France Malbec is a gorgeous dark purple with blueberry and tart cherry flavors.  Give it an hour to breathe, and everyone will be happy. Especially your wallet. Since you saved on the wine, why not splurge on the meal? We suggest paring this with a Coffee-Pepper-Rub Prime Rib Roast.

The details: 12.5% alcohol. Stelvin™ screw-cap. This is 100% malbec from the Vin de Pays d’Oc, from the Languedoc-Roussillon in France. The suggested retail is $10 USD, but we paid $7 at Pearson’s Wines & Spirits in Washington, D.C. during a special promotion during a Skalli wine event. Repeat after us:  Wine Harlots say trust your local wine merchant. If you learn nothing else from us, embrace this maxim, it’ll change your life.

The music match is “Before I Walk on Fire” by Sophie B. Hawkins from the album Tongues & Tails.
