Luna Pinot Grigio 2007

by Nannette Eaton on January 30, 2010

“When life itself seems lunatic, who knows where madness lies? Perhaps to be too practical may be madness. To surrender dreams, this may be madness. To seek treasures where there is only trash…Too much sanity may be madness, and maddest of all is to see life as it is and not as it should be.”  — Miguel De Cervantes

“There are nights when the wolves are silent and only the moon howls.”  — George Carlin

Wine Harlots were howling at the moon with this wine.  Luna Pinot Grigio is the color of moonbeams, light and crisp, lemony and pear tones, with a touch of minerality.  A great food paring would be Pasta Primavera.

The details: 13.5% alcohol.  Screw-cap closure.  Appellation: Napa Valley.  The wine is a blend of 95% pinot grigio and 5% chardonnay.  The wine retails from $13-18.  The wine was a media sample kindly provided and facilitated by Vintage Point and The Barn Group.

The music match is “Luna Park” from the Pet Shop Boys from the album Fundamental.  It might always be dark in Luna Park, but Wine Harlots suggest the Luna Pinot Grigio to light your way.
