Tarara Winery

by Nannette Eaton on January 16, 2010

If you’re in Loudoun County, Virginia, plan a visit to Tarara Winery in Leesburg.  It’s a beautiful area, and perfect for a day-trip.  The standard tasting is $10, the Premier Tastings are $20 and include several wines not available to the general public and  hors d’œuvre’s specially paired for the wines.  Wine Harlots enjoyed the Long Bomb, a tribute to the owner, Whitie Hubert.  If you buy a case of Long Bomb in January, you’ll get a Team Tarara Long Bomb Football Jersey.

Fall, Winter and Spring are lovely times to visit, but they kick it in high gear when the weather warms up.  They have the wildly popular Summer Concert Series.  What I’m looking forward to this summer is the You-Pick Fruit program that allows you to create a tradition with your friends and family of harvesting your own fruits and vegetables.   The family theme is continued with exquisite label art by Martha Hubert, a San Francisco based artist who is the daughter of the winery’s owner.

Joining the Tarara Estate Wine Club might be a good plan.  In addition to the standard wine shipments and the 20% discount on wine purchases, you receive two complementary tastings each visit and you receive two season passes to the Summer Concert Series . Come visit and them ’em the Wine Harlots sent you.  You never know, you might find us hanging out, sipping some wine and enjoying a little live music.
