Three Coins Knights Valley Syrah 2006

by Nannette Eaton on January 13, 2010

“She’s afraid that if she leaves, she’ll become the life of the party”  —  Groucho Marx

This is a great celebratory wine.  The color is dark purple raising to fuschia.  The flavors are bold and bright, raspberry, blackberry and pepper.  One of the tasters,  Eve Sieminski, declared it was “a backseat of a limo wine, a very sexy wine!”

The details: 14.5% alcohol.  Cork closure.  Appellation: Knights Valley, Sonoma.  Retail price $28 USD or $203 for a case (which works out to $17 a bottle), available at the Three Coins Wines website.  Three Coins is a division of Lawer Family Wines.  This was a media sample kindly provided by the winery.

Eve’s music match is Rod Stewart’s “Tonight’s the Night” from the album A night on the Town. Open a bottle and become the life of the party.
