Passaggio New Generation Unoaked Chardonnay 2008

by Nannette Eaton on February 1, 2010

“When I read a book I seem to read it with my eyes only, but now and then I come across a passage, perhaps only a phrase, which has a meaning for me, and it becomes part of me.”  — W. Somerset Maugham

Passaggio is the Italian word for passage.  Wine Harlots opened a bottle and were transported.  Passaggio is also a musical vocal term.  Wine Harlots believe the Passaggio New Generation Unoaked Chardonnay 2008 has perfect pitch.

It’s a pale straw color with lovely aromas of apple and pear, which continues on the palate with an addition of subtle tropical fruit tones.  The wine is crisp, clean and bright.  It’s a pretty wine.  An extremely good value for the price.

The details: 14% alcohol.  Zork™ closure.  Pure California chardonnay.  The retail price is $13 USD, available directly through the Passaggio website.  This was a media sample generously provided by the winery.

For the social media folks, you can be friends the winemaker, Cynthia Cosco, on Facebook or follow the winery Passaggio on Twitter.

The music match is “This Woman’s Work” by Kate Bush from the album This Sensual World. Stock up the Passaggio and have safe passage wherever your journeys take you.
