Ukiah Cellars Two Vineyards Chardonnay 2008

by Nannette Eaton on February 26, 2010

“In the depths of winter,  I at last discovered that within me there lay an invincible summer.”  — Albert Camus

The winter doldrums getting you down?  Wine Harlots suggest a glass of liquid sunshine to brighten up your day.  Try the Ukiah Two Vineyards Chardonnay, with it’s cheerful sun-burst label.  It’s an unoaked chardonnay with a wonderfully soft floral nose, with a neutral palate with whispers of apple and a mineral finish.  The perfect pairing is Shrimp & Avocado Salad.

The details: 13.8% alcohol.  Screw-cap closure.  Appellation: Mendocino.  The two vineyards are participants in the Wine Institute’s Sustainable Winegrowing Program.  The suggested retail price is $16 USD available directly from the Ukiah Cellars or from select restaurants and retailers.  This was a media sample generously provided by Magnanimus Wines.

The music match is “The Consequences Of Falling” by k.d. lang from the album Invincible Summer.  Wine Harlots say create your own invincible summer out of your winter of discontent.
