Chateau Ste. Michelle Cold Creek Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

by Nannette Eaton on April 14, 2010

“When you have loved as she has loved, you grow old beautifully.”  — W. Somerset Maugham

Wine Harlots have had a long love affair with Ste. Michelle.  As a Northwest natives, it’s the first wine we ever drank, and you never forget your first.  The love endures.  Wine Harlots are smitten with Papardelle with Chanterelles, Prosciutto & Thyme Cream, from their Single Vineyards Series.  This is a supple wine, with delicious blackberry flavors with a lingering touch of vanilla.  The perfect pairing is Grilled Ribeye with Red Wine Porcini Sauce.

The details:  14.8% alcohol.  Cork closure.  Appellation:  Columbia Valley.  The wine is 98% cabernet sauvignon with a kiss of merlot.  The suggested retail is $28 USD and is widely available and can be ordered directly from the Ste. Michelle website.  This was a media sample generously provided by the winery.

The music match is “Michelle” by the Beatles from the album Rubber Soul.  I love you, I love you, I love you…
