Westwood Haynes Vineyard Pinot Noir 2005 Sonoma California

Wine Harlots say “Go Westwood!”  You won’t go wrong drinking Westwood Pinot Noir.  This is a delicious bottle of wine.  The color is a clear deep ruby, with flavors of cherry, plummy notes, a touch of spice with minerality on the long finish.  Make sure you stock up on this one, after the bottle was empty, this harlot was mournful.  Don’t let this wine tragedy happen to you!  The perfect pairing is Planked Salmon with Pinot Noir-Berry Sauce

The details:  14.9% alcohol.  Cork closure.  Appellation: Napa Valley.  The 2005 is the most recent release and retails for $60 USD, but for a limited time it can be purchased directly from the Westwood Winery for $45.  Westwood also has a screaming deal on the 2000 vintage, it’s ready to drink, and at $20 a bottle buy a case for your summer soirées (shipping within California is included with case purchases.)  This was a media sample generously provided by the winery and hand delivered to the Wine Harlots World Headquarters by my friends Ginny Langan & The Dude.  (Yes, The Dude Abides!)

The music match is “West End Girls” by the Pet Shop Boys from the album Please.  Try it.  Pinot noir where the Westwood was won.
