Westwood redFOUR 2005

by Nannette Eaton on July 4, 2010

“The smack of California earth shall linger on the palate of your grandson.”  —  Robert Louis Stevenson

This Rhône blend rocks it.  Westwood redFOUR 2005 is a dark red bing cherry hue that swirls in glass in an enticing manner revealing gorgeous legs.   It has a berry nose with cherry on the palate and a lingering finish.  The finish may linger, but stock up on this one, Wine Harlots guarantee one taste will leave you craving more.  The perfect pairing is Char-Grilled Beef with Marinated Capsicum Salad.

The details: 14.9% alcohol.  Varietals: A blend of syrah, mourvèdre, grenache, tannat.  Appellation: Sonoma.  The price is $23.50  USD. The wine is available directly from Westwood or though select distributors.  This was a media sample, generously provided by the winery.

The music match is “Linger” by the Cranberries from the album Everybody Else Is Doing It… Wine Harlots suggest opening a couple of bottles of Westwood and lingering over a leisurely meal with the ones you love.
