Bruliam Wines

by Nannette Eaton on January 13, 2011

Welcome to the inaugural Philanthropy Thursday, where we profile people, products, and organizations that showcase the best nature of humankind.

“In charity there is no excess.”  —  Sir Francis Bacon

Bruliam Wines motto is: “Wine is elemental.”  So is philanthropy.  Bruliam Wines is a wholly philanthropic venture.  All of the profits (yes, all) will be donated to charity.  Giving back never tasted so good!

The three offerings available currently are pinot noirs.  They are all beautiful wines, the most approachable (and the Wine Harlots favorite) is 2009 Hayley Vineyard Pinot Noir Anderson Valley, perfect for drinking right now.  The 2009 Doctor’s Vineyard Pinot Noir Santa Lucia Highlands is classic pinot with blackberry, raspberries, chocolate, earth and leather.  The 2009 Split Rock Vineyard Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast deserves to be laid down for a couple of years to allow the tannins to soften.  The wines are offered directly from Bruliam Wines with the retail price of $52 USD.  For you zin-heads, in May 2011, the 2009 Rocky Ridge Zinfandel Rockpile (Bruliam’s Swale Rock) will be available (price pending).  The barrel sample tasted at the Bruiliam Wines Release Party in December was delicious, it looks like another winner.

Wine Harlots suggest you join Bruliam Brigade.  Joining is free, and it’s a great way to spread the word about Bruliam.  Sign up and they’ll send you a nifty Bruliam t-shirt.  Have your picture taken in a fun, cool or exotic place and send it Bruliam.  Every month they have a contest of all the collected photos, the winner gets $250.00 donated to the charity of their choice.  Photos have been submitted from every continent and it’s the grown-up version of Where’s Waldo?  If you can get celebrities to sport Bruliam, you’ll get extra style points.  (My secret wish is for Silas from Weeds to sport Bruliam in the final season.  Or Eddie Vedder in concert.  Hey!  It could happen!)

Wine Harlots say do good.  Drink better.  Buy Bruliam and do both.
