“The first man to compare the cheeks of a young woman to a rose was obviously a poet; the first to repeat it was possibly an idiot.”  —  Salvador Dali

No idiots at Boxwood Estate (unless of course the Wine Harlots are in the house) but there’s poetry in every glass. The Boxwood Estate Topiary Rosé 2010 is the color is salmon with notes of strawberry and cherry with dusty minerals on the finish. It’s the perfect wine to drink on a hot summer night on the porch-swing. The perfect pairing is charcuterie, cheese and a baguette. The music match is “Idioteque” from Vienna Teng & Alex Wong from the album The Moment Always Vanishing.

The details: 13.5% alcohol. Cork closure. Varietals: cabernet france and malbec. Appellation: Virginia, on the Tuskie’s Wine Trail in Middleburg. The wine is available directly from the Boxwood and the price is $14 USD. This was a media sample for the social media event Summer Wines of Virginia and was generously provided by the winery.
