Château Fontenille Bordeaux Clairet 2010

by Nannette Eaton on December 4, 2011

“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” — Henry David Thoreau

It’s good to be different. Château Fontenille Bordeaux Clairet 2010 is a delciously different wine. Clairet is not to be confused with claret, the British word for the red wines of Bordeaux. Clairet is a dark pink rosé. The Château Fontenille Bordeaux Clairet 2010 is an alluring bright fuschia color, derived from grape skin contact with the juice during maceration. This dry rosé has flavors and aromas of fresh raspberries, currants and a hint of violet. It will pair beautifully with an hors d’oeuvre of Smoked Salmon & Avocado on Rye. The music match is “This is How it Goes” from Aimee Mann from the album Lost in Space.
