Mionetto Prosecco Organic D.O.C. Treviso

by Nannette Eaton on June 5, 2012

“Summer, after all, is a time when wonderful things can happen to quiet people. For those few months, you’re not required to be who everyone thinks you are, and that cut-grass smell in the air and the chance to dive into the deep end of a pool give you a courage you don’t have the rest of the year. You can be grateful and easy, with no eyes on you, and no past. Summer just opens the door and lets you out.” — Deb Caletti

When wonderful things happen, open a bottle of Mionetto Prosecco Organic D.O.C. Treviso to celebrate. The flavors of crisp, tart apple with a hazelnut finish are perfect for the lazy, hazy days of summer. The perfect pairing for prosecco is Steamed Mussels with Lemongrass, Thai Basil, Chilies & Coconut.

The details: 11% alcohol. Cork closure. Appellation: Prosecco. Grape: Glera. The wine is made from Bioagricert certified organic grapes. In addition to organic, recycled materials are used for the bottle, label and shipper are used to reduce the carbon footprint. Actual retail: $14-18 USD, and is widely distributed. This wine was a sample provided by Whole Foods Market to highlight their Top Ten Wines of Summer campaign.
