Domaine de Bernier Vin Pays du Val de Loire Chardonnay 2011

“We’re like a painting,
And now it’s raining down,
Watch the colors run ‘till we’re almost one,
Watch us fading, from this one street town,
We’ll sleep where we fall, or nowhere at all.

Everyone wants something,
Well, I’m wanted by everyone but you.

Well, I’ve been thinking about the meals with wine,
Can’t you see how time doesn’t count at all…”

Joshua Radin

Domaine de Bernier Loire Valley Chardonnay White Table Wine

Well, I’ve been thinking about the meals with wine a lot, obsessively so, it seems at times. Of course, all wines go with meals, but the Domaine de Bernier Vin Pays du Val de Loire Chardonnay is an effortless choice. It’s an elegant glass with soft lemon notes with beautiful minerality.

Perfect pairing? The Domaine de Bernier Chardonnay would be awesome with any shellfish or pastas with cream sauce, but it totally rocks with Michael Rulhman’s Easy Chicken Curry. The music match is “Wanted” by Joshua Radin from the album The Rock and the Tide, partial lyrics quoted above.

The details: 12% alcohol. Screw-cap closure. Appellation: Loire Valley. Grapes: chardonnay. Retail: $12-15 USD. Importer: Vineyard Brands. The winemakers, the Couillaud Brothers are members of Vigneron Independent, an independent winemaker’s federation. This was a media sample provided for editorial consideration.

I tried this wine today and I described it almost exactly as you describe it here.
I just started working in a great French bistro and we have wine classes after our shifts. So much to learn, we have a great teacher and I love being able to really taste a wine and no what’s going on.
