Sierra Madre Pinot Noir Sierra Madre Block 216 Pinot Noir 2009

Sierra Madre Block 216 Pinot Noir is a dreamy bottle of wine. The pinot is fruit forward with tart cherries and black plums with a smooth and elegant finish. Wine Harlots favorite perfect pairing with pinot is salmon, but not to get stuck in a rut (and it’s not “boring” it’s “consistent”) mix thing up with a comforting plate of Ziti with Portobello Mushrooms, Caramelized Onions, and Goat Cheese. The music match is “Better Days” from the dreamy Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros.

The details: 14.9% alcohol. Cork closure. Appellation: Santa Maria Valley. Grapes: pinot noir (clone 667.) Retail: $47 USD available directly from Sierra Madre Vineyards. This was a media sample provided for editorial consideration.
