Knowledge is of no value unless you put it into practice. — Anton Chekhov
The beer that thinks it’s a wine. When I first tasted Stone Imperial Russian Stout, I nearly fell-over, literally. I finished my glass, and stood up on very shaky legs. This stout has a wine-worthy alcohol content of 10.5%. Not for the faint-hearted, that’s for sure! But if you’re daring, the payoff is well worth it. This is a rich and creamy brew, that at first glance you think “Guinness.” But that comparison falls to the wayside after the first sip. This is a delicious quaff with notes of dusk, earth, smoke and chocolate. Unless you are planning on drinking your meal, we suggest pairing with Pasta with Porcini Mushroom Sauce. We picked a 22 oz bottle up at Santa Fe Liquor for $5.50 USD.
The music pairing is “Gotta Believe” from San Diego band Get Back Loretta from the album Over the Wall. Hi Kevin! They also have a new album Where Did You Go available. You gotta believe us, have the Wine Harlots lead you astray?
