“It has taken me years of struggle, hard work and research to learn to make one simple gesture, and I know enough about the art of writing to realize that it would take as many years of concentrated effort to write one simple, beautiful sentence.” – Isadora Duncan
Today begins the third year of Wine Harlots. After two challenging and exhilarating years and 300 posts later, I’ve learned a few things. Keep writing. Even if you think no one is reading, you’d be surprised. Of course, the posts you labor over and care most about, nobody reads. You beg people to read it. Nothing. Sound of crickets. But conversely, the work that you quickly created or think is lightweight or silly, is the most read and generates serious traffic. Go figure. Keep writing.
One of the highlights of the year was that I became a professional writer. And they said this blogging thing wouldn’t add up to much.
The goals for the next year, Wine Harlots 2.0, if you will, are ambitious, yet achievable. I’ll be spending extensive time traveling to wine areas and writing about the exploits and adventures, and reporting back with all the delicious details.
Wine Harlots thanks everyone who has supported us this year. You rock! Wine Harlots raise glass to everyone. Cheers to you!
A big thank you to Inslee Haynes of Inslee by Design for allowing the use of the gorgeous birthday cake image for our celebration. Check out her website for more fabulous art.
