Foppiano Vineyards Estate Bottled Russian River Valley Chardonnay 2010

“Nature gives to every time and season some beauties of its own; and from morning to night, as from the cradle to the grave, it is but a succession of changes so gentle and easy that we can scarcely mark their progress.” — Charles Dickens

The golden liquid brightens any occasion, with it’s fresh green apple and savory pear flavors combined with restrained spice notes, it’s perfect to drink alone, but pairing is always so much more fun! Try it with Leek & Blue Cheese Soup, suggested by my friend, Pat Thompson of La Dolce Vida Tours. She paired it with prosecco, but I think the judicious use of oak in the Foppiano chardonnay will marry well with this lush soup. The music match is “Brand New Day” by Joshua Radin from the album The Rock and the Tide.

The details: 14.5% alcohol. Cork closure. Appellation: Russian River Valley. Varietal: chardonnay. Suggested retail price $20 USD and is available directly from Foppiano Vineyards or from select retailers. This was a media sample generously provided by the winery and facilitated by the Barn Group.

Excellent suggestion! I’ll drink to that. (Though I’m not sure if Dickens would. He apparently was more inclined towards “a pint of champagne” every day at 3 pm, then a glass of sherry — mixed with egg! — before every evening performance.)

A pint of Champagne sounds good to me!

Cheers!
