“Black as the devil, hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love.” — Charles Maurice de Talleyrand
Chilean wine giant Montes has a stateside brand Star Angel with grapes sourced from Paso Robles. The Montes Star Angel Syrah 2007 is a powerful wine with a deep ruby hue with flavors and aromas of blueberries, blackberries and strawberries with alluring spiciness and a touch of oak. To show this wines angelic side, run it through an aerator or decant it an hour or so before drinking – if you do, it’ll guaranteed to be devilishly good. Your own behaviour, is totally up to you. The perfect pairing is Rosemary Rubbed Beef Tenderloin. The music to match is “Among Angels” by the ethereal Kate Bush from the new album 50 Words for Snow.
