Que syrah shiraz. Syrah is one of the most delicious and approachable red wine available, but retailers are hesitant to make larges purchases of syrah, as it languishes on store shelves, unappreciated, unloved and unpurchased. To show support for syrah, Bill Eyer of Cuvee Corner, rabble rouser that he is, has organized a grass-roots event Occupy Syrah to highlight the awesomeness of this varietal. All you need to do is buy a bottle (or two…) of syrah or shiraz or a red from the Rhône and enjoy the deliciousness with friends and family. If you’re into social media, talk about your syrah experience and use the hashtag #OccupySyrah so the rest of the wine activists can see your support. If you need some suggestions of what to quaff, here’s a few of the syrah’s the Wine Harlots have enjoyed.
Save syrah. Drink syrah. Occupy Syrah.

I feel like a kid on Christmas eve……I just want to get in and start occupying a glass!

Thanks for your support, and cheers to you!

Syrah is making a come back. My winery produced a small lot this year and we sold over 100 cases in futures AND it’s become one of our top 5 best sellers. We love you Syrah.
That’s awesome!
I think syrah is fantastic, but I’m told by wineries and retailers it’s a tough sell — I guess that’s where I come in, huh?
