“I was going to be left alone on my butt at the other end of the continent. But why think about that when all the golden land’s ahead of you and all kinds of unforseen events wait lurking to surprise you and make you glad you’re alive to see?” – Jack Kerouac
Road trips are an iconic part of the American mythology, the journey through the vastness and diversity of the United States: the alienation of miles on the road, enjoying regional culture and cuisine and the pleasure of meeting new people and bonding over a glass of wine.
I’m trilled to announce that I, Nannette Eaton of Wine Harlots, will be working as the Official Wines of France Blogger/Social Media Correspondent for the summer Wines of France road trip cutting a swath through the middle of the United States. I’ll be reporting all of our adventures on the way. Wines of France Across America will starting off in Chicago and ending in New Orleans just in time for the Tales of the Cocktail. Stops in between are Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Dallas and Houston. I’ll be jetting off to Chicago tomorrow to launch the events on Thursday in the Windy City. How to keep track of our journey? Check out the Wines of France Facebook page and the Wines of France Twitter feeds. And you’ll always have a hook-up with the Wine Harlots here, at our World Headquarters, or on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Google+ and FourSquare.
We’ll be rolling through the countryside in a classic Airstream, a little Thelma & Louise, mixed with Kerouac and Hunter Thompson, with French flair in a digital landscape. Come join us! The lure of the open road is calling…
