Amelia Fais Harnas, a Corning, New York, portrait artist has created mesmerizing paintings using the medium of red wine as the paint; in a collection she refers to as Wine Stains. Harnas layers the wine with wax resist, in a manner similar to batik, to create stunning portraits that convey depth and meaning that transcend traditional portraiture.
