The first official stop on the Wines of France Across America Tour was a media dinner in Chicago. The Team rolled in Urban Union, located in Little Italy on Taylor Streetjust west of Racine. It’s one of those nose-to-tail places owned by Chef Michael Shrader, who philosophy on food is: “less is more, no Bullshit or tricks. Excellent raw product, simply prepared, done right. All of my food is seasonal, we change the menu about every three weeks.” And the food at Urban Union is phenomenal. Paired with wines from France, the fête was a raging success, with the evening finishing up with everyone camping it up outside the Wines of France Airstream. A great beginning for the road trip.

some good looking eats
wish you had some descriptive captions with the pics
Hi Bill,
Thanks for the suggestions.
I can’t remember the dishes on this event (I know! What a shoddy journalist!)
I’ll do better in the future — the Kansas City Carnival, you’ll just need to mouse over the picture for the details.
Thanks for keeping us honest!
Cheers!
Nannette
