Kramer Vineyards gets mad respect from the Wine Harlots. Kramer Vineyards, a boutique winery in bucolic Gaston, Oregon, Kramer is commemorating 30 years of winemaking this year. And what better way to celebrate than with a couple bottles of Kramer Vineyards Sparkling Brut 2010. The wine is utterly delicious with tart apple and yeasty flavors and beautiful pin-point bubbles.

What to pair with sparkling wine? Wine Harlots say pair it with pretty much anything. Sparkling wine has this reputation that it’s only to be served on special occasions or with fancy meals. One of our favorites is peperoni pizza. The acid in the wine cuts through the unctuous lipids in pie. The Kramer’s sublime suggestion is Truffle Butter Popcorn. The music match is “Modern Girl” from Sleater-Kinney from the album The Woods.

The details: 12.5% alcohol. Appellation: Yamhill-Carlton. A blend of pinot noir and chardonnay made méthode traditionnelle. Price: $26 USD, available in Oregon or direct ship to states that allow free-trade. The wine was provided as a media sample.
